IV Therapy for the workplace

When your office needs to get IV therapy, what do you do?

We all know hydration and nutrition are essential for living a healthy, happy life. But is your office watercooler enough for your employees? Absorption limitations during the digestive process may cause some people to miss out on essential vitamins and minerals. If you’re looking for an all-natural employee pick-me-up, consider getting IV therapy for your office.

What Is IV Therapy?

Intravenous fluid therapy is a process in which a professional administers vitamins, minerals, or medications directly into the bloodstream through a catheter. This method is the fastest way to rehydrate and deliver vital nutrients to your body. Due to its effectiveness and efficiency, intravenous fluid therapy is an excellent treatment for symptoms from:

  • Hangovers

  • Overexertion

  • Immunodeficiencies

  • Colds and cases of the flu

  • Pregnancy

  • Migraines and other headaches

For many years, patients with severe thirst were only able to receive intravenous (IV) fluids from medical professionals in hospitals or from hired home nurses. But more recently, people are realizing that IV therapy has many benefits beyond hydration. As a result, we have made it easy for you to get the treatment you need wherever you are, including your workplace.

What is In-Office IV therapy?

For IV administration of medications in the office, we offer a professional registered nurse who will be sent to your office as needed. Employees might arrange this service, or you could order it as a perk to cover multiple people in group IV therapy sessions.

You’ll be asked to describe your symptoms. They’ll also ask questions about your lifestyle and medical history. Then, the health provider will provide you with the physical examination and ask if there are any changes since your last visit.

  • Wait for you to sit somewhere comfortable while receiving treatment.

  • Disinfect the injection site on your arm.

  • Insert the IV via a needle connected to a catheter.

  • Remove the needle and tape down the catheter to prevent it from moving.

  • Verify that the pump has the correct delivery rate.

After about 45 minutes, the therapy session begins, so you can relax and work on your laptop, read a book or watch your favorite streaming entertainment service.

Why should you get a mobile IV at work?

You can probably remember times when you weren’t feeling your best during the workday. Your aches and pains might be caused by a cold, a headache, a pulled muscle, overdoing it at the gym, or even having too much to drink the night before. These issues are more common among employees than you might think. When you want to make your employees feel appreciated, it’s important to show them you care about them and especially when they aren’t feeling 100%.

The survey conducted by the Delphi Behavioral Health Group found that most employers expect their employees to be on time for work; however, the majority of full-time employees show up to work hungover.

  • The average employee uses two sick days a year due to hangovers.

  • 75% of these employees admitted to going to work hungover.

  • The average employee claims to get five hours of work done in a typical eight-hour workday.

  • 46.3% of employees said they would pretend to work when hungover.

  • 46% of them used the bathroom an excessive amount of times due to their hangover.

  • 19% had napped at work.

  • 39% of these employees made a mistake as a result of their hangover.

  • 10% of them missed critical deadlines.

  • 5% faced injury as a result of working hungover.

Workplace colds are especially common, with 90% of employees reporting coming to work sick. Of those, 54% admitted that they came to work to avoid falling behind on their responsibilities, and another 40% said they didn’t want to waste their use of sick days. The risk of getting sick at work is greatest for the young, the old, and people with weakened immune systems, who make up nearly 3% of the adult U.S. population. As a result, sick workers who come to the office are likely to interact with immunocompromised coworkers, who account for 3% of the adult U.S. population. With this knowledge,

Migraines are another significant influence on many employees’ work life, as evidenced by one study estimating over 45 million Americans suffer from migraines. The prevalence of migraines in the workplace has cost American employers at least $13 billion each year due to lost productivity. These same employees are also likely on average to miss 4.4 days of work annually because of their migraines.

The IV drips don’t just benefit heavy drinkers, immunocompromised people, and those with colds and migraines. They also work well for pregnant people, who can keep going to work up until the time they deliver. And they are good for many others, such as people with sore throats or colds, whose throats or sinuses may make it hard for them to swallow liquids.

IV Therapy: What it does to your work environment

Some research indicates that having portable intravenous therapy machines in the workplace can reduce medical expenses for companies because sick workers are less likely to miss days at work due to illness. Additionally, employers can help their employees improve morale by offering portable IV therapy at work. With mobile IV therapy, employers can increase productivity and employee morale at the same time.
